Dragon’s Den is a BBC2 show which has catapulted the business-savvy panel to fame, as well as the entrepreneurs bidding for investment. Peter Jones has been on the series since its inception, and currently stars as a Dragon alongside Sara Davies, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman and Tej Lalvani. A number of other Dragons have appeared on the programme since its inception. It is their job to choose companies which they believe have a pitch strong enough to see their business succeed – which means they need to drawn on their own funding to invest to help the company owner make their idea fly.

The title of the richest Dragon has to go to the longest-serving Dragon, Peter Jones, 53.

According to the Sunday Times Rich List 2019, Jones has a net worth of £490million and ranks at number 283.

Meanwhile, website Celebritynetworth places Peter Jones with an estimated net worth even higher, this being £500 million.

In pounds sterling, this amounts to the equivalent of £332 million.

It has not all been plain sailing for Peter, though, prior to making his millions.

Peter, aged 28, was forced to move back in with his parents after the collapse of his computer company, which forced the sale of his cocktail bar.

He began working with Siemens Nixdorf Informationsysteme before starting his next firm, Phones International Group in April 1998.

During the first seven years, the group turnover was £150million in excess.

As well as his business interests, the dad of five, who lives in South Buckinghamshire, also has a strong presence in the media.

He owns TV production company Peter Jones TV as well as starring on shows including American Investor and Peter Jones meets.

He has also starred on the series, Tycoon.

Peter’s net worth compares to that of Deborah Meaden, which is deemed to be £49,846,200.

Newbie dragon Sara Davies’ company Crafter’s Companion turns over £34 million a year, according to the BBC.

Touker Suleyman’s net worth is believed to be £150 million while Tej Lalvani has a net worth of £390 million, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
