RHONY Luann De Lesseps Completes Probation, Is She Going To Start Drinking Again?

Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps has officially made it through her year of probation that she received after her 2017 Christmas Eve drunk and disorderly arrest, and she is now a free woman. The troubled reality just revealed on Instagram that she had a difficult year, but she has made it through.

The New York City Department of Probation confirmed to Radar Online that de Lesseps has completed her probation, despite the fact that she had some trouble along the way.

“The maximum expiration date of Luann De Lesseps probation period expires today, August 28, 2019. The New York City Department of Probation will inform Florida as legally required,” the department stated.

In May, a Palm Beach County, Florida judge ordered de Lesseps back to jail after she admitted to violating her probation by drinking after her Countess and Friends cabaret show in Chicago. However, in just a matter of hours, she was able to strike a favorable plea deal that resulted in her release.

As RHONY fans know, police arrested de Lesseps on December 24, 2017, in Palm Beach, Florida, after staff found her in the wrong hotel room and she refused to leave. De Lesseps was intoxicated, and when police arrived she assaulted and threatened to kill a police officer.

After the arrest, de Lesseps admitted that she had hit “rock bottom,” and she checked into rehab two separate times. The first was in January 2018, and then she went back in the summer of 2018 after her co-star Bethenny Frankel staged an intervention.

De Lesseps says that she is humbled and grateful for the life lesson, and she is ready to put the past behind her and move on with her life. She also asked fans to wish her luck, and she thanked them for their support.

The 54-year-old is now free to drink, but she says that she enjoys being sober. For the moment, she says she is avoiding alcohol even though her probation has ended. De Lesseps says that she is going to take things one day at a time because she struggles with it like the rest of the world does.

“It hasn’t been an easy journey for me but I’ve learned a lot,” says de Lesseps.
