HSBC down: Online banking not working for customers – Latest server status updates

HSBC’s smartphone app that allows users to access online banking is not working for some – meaning the customers in question are unable to make payments or move money using their mobile.

Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 400 reports this morning from users claiming HSBC’s services are not working as normal.

An outage map on the site has showed Britons across the nation being affected.

HSBC has acknowledged the problems currently plaguing its online and mobile banking services.

In a statement, the bank said: “We’re aware some customers are having problems using Online and Mobile Banking.

“We’re really sorry and are working hard to fix this.

“You can check back here for updates or if your query is urgent please call us on 03457 404 404.”

In response to the outage, a number of HSBC customers have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration.

One said: “Come on HSBC your app has been down three times this week. Not on!”

Another tweeted: “What is seriously going on with HSBC?

“I’m normally raving about how amazing this bank is…the past week has been a lesson in frustration!

“Missing the customer service I’m used to!”

A third declared: “HSBC, I’ve made a payment which has deducted from my account this morning, but hasn’t reached the other side.

“Could this be due to your online banking being down? I did this from the app!”

Express.co.uk will be updating this page with the latest server status for HSBC.
