Mate 30 Pro release: This might be your first look at Huawei’s next flagship

Mate 30 Pro could be announced earlier than expected.

That is because a Huawei official has been quoted as saying the hardware will debut in Europe on September 19.

If true, it means the device could debut earlier in the year than is standard for Huawei’s Mate series.

For reference, the Mate 20 Pro was unveiled on October 16.

Rumours have suggested the Mate 30 Pro could tote a new display with more prominent curves on its sides, an improved camera system and a bigger battery than its predecessor.

The new mobile is also anticipated to come with a fresh processor in the form of Huawei’s new Kirin 990, too.

While murmurings about its specifications have been relatively prominent, there have so far been very few alleged images of the hardware around.

However, it seems a new leak may have just revealed the Mate 30 Pro in full.

A claimed promotional image of the flagship recently surfaced on Weibo – the hardware was displayed with a new, circular, camera module on its rear and with a notch at the top of its display.

The phone’s camera system was shown to be significant, taking up a large portion of its rear panel.

Four lenses were shown to be housed inside the module – it has been rumoured the Mate 30 Pro could tote two 40-megapixel primary sensors in addition to a time-of-flight (TOF) camera and a telephoto lens.

The front of the mobile was shown to have substantial curves on its sides, as has been previously rumoured.

Moreover, a notch was shown at the top that is expected to house a front-facing camera and facial recognition sensors.

The cutout looks fairly similar to that seen in a recent alleged photo of the device being used in the wild that also emerged on Chinese site Weibo.

While the new image appears to give Android fans their first look at Huawei’s next flagship, it is worth noting Express.co.uk is unable to confirm the accuracy of the photo.

In fact, a number of notable tipsters have also questioned the image’s legitimacy.

In particular, teenage tipster Ishan Agarwal said it “seems like it’s a photoshop”.
