Just who are Rey’s parents? The Force Awakens left fans wondering if Luke, Leia or Han were involved or maybe even Emperor Palpatine. But come The Last Jedi and Kylo Ren told Rey her parents were nobodies. And yet we still find it hard to believe that he’s telling her the truth. Perhaps the big reveal is coming in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker this Christmas?
Well, now a popular new fan theory claims that Rey doesn’t have any parents at all because she’s a female clone of Luke.
Reddit user Jobenblue argues that Rey was created from Luke’s missing hand, which was loped off by Darth Vader in the “I am your father” scene of Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
After all, his hand was lost with his blue lightsaber – the one that was constructed by Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars and passed on to Luke by Obi-Wan Kenobi.
But come Episode VII: The Force Awakens and Maz Kanata was in possession of the blue lightsaber, which awoke and called out to Rey.
