Peaky Blinders season 5 spoilers: Fans call for BAFTA win for one VERY unexpected star

Peaky Blinders returned after a long hiatus and fans were eager to see the return of Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) and the Birmingham gang.

The series picked up two years after fans saw the Shelby’s engage in a bloody battle with Luca Changretta’s (Adrien Brody) mafia, but the latest outing is not without the usual fighting and violence.

The first episode didn’t wait long until Tommy was battling it out in another gun fight, with one scene that many viewers found difficult to watch.

The scene saw Tommy loose control of his weapon as he ended up shooting dead an innocent horse.

However, some fans seemed to be amused by the animal’s performance, claiming the horse’s death was a BAFTA worthy performance.

The scene seems to be dominating twitter as fans spoke out about the horse’s dramatic death, wondering just how the horse was able to give such a convincing performance.

One viewer tweeted: “How did they get the horse to act like that?? Seriously!”

Moreover, the scene featured a umber of slow-motion moments as viewers complimented the cinematography.

A second added: “The cinematography on #PeakyBlinders has always been good, but they’ve really stepped it up for this series. When Tommy shot that horse.”

A third simply added “BAFTA for that horse.”

However, some viewers hated the scene with one viewer tweeting: “Oh no. no, no, no. I did not like the horse shooting scene… #PeakyBlinders.”

It seems the dead horse was not the only part of the latest outing that gathered a reaction as Isaiah Jesus is now played by a new actor.

Previous outings saw Isaiah Jesus played by Jordan Bolger, but the first episode saw actor Daryl McCormack take over, much to the surprise of viewers.

Fans of the franchise took to twitter to voice their confusion on the new casting decision.

One wrote: “Who’s that new Isiah lad #PeakyBlinders.”

Another wrote: “Erm… what’s happened to Isaiah?! #PeakyBlinders.”

While a third exclaimed: “Right so LOVING it so far absolutely class.

“But not being funny where’s the real Isiah?? @caramaka where you at?? #PeakyBlinders #PEAKYBLINDERSS5.”

Nonetheless, fans still seem to be excited to see their favourite character return for in the latest outing.

Peaky Blinders continues Monday on BBC One at 9pm.
