Michelle Obama and her husband Barack ‘snub’ Donald Trump on Twitter in a subtle message

Michelle’s husband former US President Barack tweeted out the couples’ favourite summer songs this week on Twitter. The tweet included a picture of a 44-song playlist with their cherished summer anthems. Barack wrote: “With summer winding down, here’s a sampling of what Michelle and I have been listening to — some new, some old, some fast, some slow. Hope you enjoy.”

The songs included modern hits from Beyonce, Lizzo and John Legend as well as older tunes from The Rolling Stones and Van Morrison.

However, Twitter fans identified a subtle snub in the tweet that could be directed at Trump.

Fans of the couple noticed that the playlist stopped at 44 songs – an unusual number.

But as the 44th US President, users are speculating whether Barack’s 44-song playlist could be a direct dig at the 45th President – Trump.

One user responded on Twitter: “P.s. We see what you did here Barack – Leaving off 45 is a nice burn.”

Another said: “I love it that there’s no 45.”

Another replied: “44 for 44!”

The couple also received shocking backlash on the site after sharing the playlist online.

However, many users jumped to the couples’ defence and admired them for their passion and taste in music.

One user said: “Awesome playlist.”

Another said “You guys are the coolest.”

Another commented: “I just love both you and Michelle. You are our past, present and future. God bless you and God Bless America.”

A leading commentator recently said Michelle was the only person capable of beating Trump in an election.

The former First Lady has been called on by fans to run in next year’s presidential election.

Veteran columnist Steve Lopez said Democratic nomination candidates Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren ran the risk of alienating moderates due to their left leaning stances.

Mr Lopez also warned that Joe Biden could alienate minorities and young people.

Writing in the LA Times said: “It’s a long shot, sure, but the very idea of Michelle as a candidate would give Trump fits.”
