Britain’s Got Talent The Champions: Simon Cowell reveals biggest fear ahead of start date

Britain’s Got Talent has spent the past thirteen years showcasing the most incredible talent the nation has to offer, and fans are in luck as the show is set to return to ITV this Saturday with Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

However, the competition will not be as fans remember it as this special edition of the show will see both finalists and winners of the show battle it out to be crowned the ultimate champion.

A whole host of memorable acts have travelled to Wembley Arena for this year’s show including Paul Potts, George Sampson, Stavros Flatley and Twist and Pulse.

However, despite an exciting lineup, Judge Simon Cowell has revealed there is one thing causing him concern ahead of the show’s start date.

Simon Cowell will of course be returning to the judging panel alongside Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, and the judge has revealed his only concern is the length of the series.

Speaking ahead of the show Simon revealed he would like to see more of the talent before having to make the tough decision of who to send home.

Simon revealed: “My only concern and the downside of only having five shows before the final is that we’ve actually seen some amazing talent get sent home.

“The talent is off the charts! If we look at doing this again I’d like to do more heats and a couple of semi-finals before the final.”

The talent agent also revealed it was the stories he has loved the most about the show.

He added: “Being able to return to Paul Potts and Connie Talbot and George Sampson, people like that.

“People will go, ‘I had no idea the career you’ve had off the back of the show,’ because with some of them when they are not on screen people can sometimes forget about them but actually they’ve had worldwide careers thanks to Britain’s Got Talent.

“If you didn’t have that, you’d genuinely question why we would ever make the show.”

Perhaps one of the most memorable acts was 2009 finalist Susan Boyle, who rose to fame after her performance of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’.

The star recently spoke out about one of her major regrets during her time on the show as she revealed she would have gone for a completely different look had she had the chance to go back.

Speaking on America’s Got Talent this week, the star revealed she wasn’t a fan of her beige dress and white shoes.

Susan revealed: “If I was doing my audition all over again, I would make sure I wasn’t dressed in the dark for a start.

“I mean white shoes with black tights, you don’t do that do you?”

She added: “If I was to dress myself I’d probably have a gown on again, probably a green one. And I’d have nice shoes, with my hair done up nice.”

Susan went on to say: “What was I like? I was like a brush on legs!”

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions starts Saturday August 31st 8pm on ITV.
