Taylor Swift Drags Donald Trump And Promises To Do Everything She Can In The 2020 Election

Taylor Swift may have kept her political stance secret from the public for a long time but ever since she first decided to use her voice, she’s been doing that more and more. That being said, the singer criticized the current political atmosphere and dragged the president, Donald Trump, as well as promised to do everything she can to help change things in the 2020 Election.

This is a change from 2016, when she did not endorse a candidate. But that is a choice she also explained.

During an interview with The Guardian, Taylor freely talked about the current state of the political scene, saying that ‘We’re a democracy—at least, we’re supposed to be—where you’re allowed to disagree, dissent, debate. I really think that he [Donald Trump] thinks this is an autocracy.’

But the current president is not the only one she has a real issue with.

The Guardian described that she was ‘conflicted what the US stood for [since] all the dirtiest tricks in the book were used and it worked.’

The superstar also told the news outlet that the current consensus is that ‘If you hate the president, you hate America,’’ but obviously, she doesn’t agree with that.

Taylor remembered how her lack of involvement in the elections in 2016 made her feel ‘useless,’ perhaps ‘even like a hindrance.’

All in all, she feels ‘really remorseful’ for saying nothing and not endorsing Hillary Clinton.

At the time, ‘I was just trying to protect my mental health – not read the news very much, go cast my vote, tell people to vote. I just knew what I could handle and I knew what I couldn’t. I was literally about to break,’ she explained.
