New iPhone 11 may offer a surprise that Apple fans were definitely not expecting

If you are an Apple iPhone fan then we’d make sure you watch out for big news updates coming next month.

September looks set to be when Apple finally lifts the lid on its next smartphone and it could arrive packed with new features and shiny upgrades.

Perhaps the biggest change will come to the camera with a swathe of leaks and rumours suggesting a triple rear lens is coming to this device.

If true it could mean fans finally get a wide-angle lens, better zoom and improved night photography without the need for a flash.

Along with that camera boost, it’s likely that this iPhone 11 will be faster and have a much longer battery life plus it may get the addition of being able to refill other devices using reverse wireless charging technology.

Many of these changes have been swirling the web for a while, however, there’s now one new leak which is claiming the next Apple smartphone will get a surprise update.

Mobile Fun has released images of a case which includes a clip for a mini Apple Pencil.

Although not confirmed this could mean a stylus is coming to the iPhone which would allow users to scribble on the screen without using their finger.

Apple already has a larger Pencil which is available for its iPad Pro and iPad Air tablets but this would be the first time such an upgrade has appeared on its mobile devices.

We’ll have to wait and see if this becomes a reality but it would mark a dramatic change from the US tech firm.

Apple founder Steve Jobs famously once said that the stylus was a bad idea.

“Who wants a stylus?” Jobs said while introducing the original iPhone. “You have to get ’em, put ’em away, you lose ’em.

“Yuck! Nobody wants a stylus. So let’s not use a stylus.”

Perhaps the most famous phone to include a digital pen is the Galaxy Note range.

These smartphones have been hugely popular for Samsung with the Korean firm recently releasing the Note 10 which continues to have its S Pen tucked neatly inside.

Luckily, there may not be too long until we find out full specs on the latest iPhone as Express.co.uk is predicting a September 10 launch – you can find out our reasons behind this here.

We’ll be bringing you full Apple news and updates as soon as we hear more so watch this space.
