Dan Walker Twitter: ‘What has happened to us?’ BBC Breakfast host rants online

Dan Walker, 42, wasn’t happy with England’s display yesterday, after they were bowled out for 67 in their first innings.

Australia closed the day on a victory which lines them up to retain the Ashes after ending with a lead of 283 runs on the second day of the third test.

The BBC Breakfast host said England had a “big issue to overcome” as he replied to former cricketer, Michael Vaughan, on Twitter.

The cricket commentator wrote online: “Test Match Batting at an all time low this week… #Ashes.”

Dan replied: “Absolute bobbins Vaughany. What has happened to us? The urn disappeared in one session. Was listening to you on @bbctms today.

“5 times bowled out for under 100 in the last 18 months. That is a big issue to overcome.”

Earlier in the day, Dan had expressed how much the situation had “hurt” him, as he commented on their “reckless shots”.

“Love England & I love cricket but this has been awful,” he moaned.

“Hurts so much because there have been far too many reckless shots.”

Dan added: “You could put yesterday’s platform in a little urn. #TheAshes #ENGAUS #ENGvAUS.”

Dan’s TV rival, Piers Morgan, also spoke out the impending day ahead and said to his Twitter fans: “This could be a very long, difficult day for Arsenal-supporting England cricket fans.”

Yesterday, the Good Morning Britain presenter tweeted: “Jeez, England.. what are you doing????? Everyone getting themselves out. #Ashes.”

Elsewhere, Dan ranted on Twitter earlier in the week after CBBC released a list of shows it considered “legendary”.

The host wasn’t happy the list had missed out many of his favourite programmes.

Among the list considered “legendary” were ‘Raven’, ’50/50’ and ‘Get Your Own Back’.

Dan wrote: “WHERE IS JOSSY’S GIANTS? WHERE IS GOING LIVE? WHERE IS BYKER GROVE? HOW CAN CHUCKLE VISION BE ‘MID TIER’? #NationalDisgrace.”

He continued: “WHERE IS MYSTERIOUS CITIES OF GOLD? WHERE IS JONNY BRIGGS? IS BLUE PETER EVEN ON THERE?”

The star went on to add he “can’t stop thinking” about the list and declared he was off for a “YouTube session”.

BBC Breakfast airs on BBC One from 6am.
