Arsenal fans all say the same thing about Nicolas Pepe after first start vs Liverpool

Arsenal supporters are more than impressed with their new winger Nicolas Pepe.

The Ivory Coast international made his first start since his record move to the Emirates in the summer.

Pepe was thrown in at the deep end as Arsenal travelled to Champions League winners Liverpool in the Premier League’s late kick off.

However, the winger impressed at Anfield, with Pepe almost scoring in the first half.

Pepe’s curling effort went just wide of Adrian’s far post leaving the Liverpool goalkeeper scampering across his line.

And Arsenal fans were full of praise for Pepe after starting his first game for the Gunners.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Pépé is worrying Liverpool! #LIVARS”

Another added: “Pepe is a proper dangerman”

“Pepe is a baller,” agreed another Arsenal fan.

A fellow Gunners supporter added: “Pepe is going to be amazing for Arsenal.”

“Pepe on fireee,” another fan said.

Liverpool were linked with Pepe in the summer, however, Arsenal beat the Reds to the winger.

And Reds legend Jamie Carragher says Liverpool didn’t sign Pepe as he’s too similar a player to Mohamed Salah.

“Nicolas Pepe normally plays from that right-hand side, coming inside on his left foot,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.

“That’s why Liverpool never took him, there was lots of speculation.

“He’s basically a Mo Salah-type player really in some ways on that side, coming in on his stronger foot.”
