Celtic budget

Neil Lennon is unsure how much money Celtic have left to spend this summer despite raising more than £50million in sales over the last year.

Scottish clubs have until September 2 to sign players but asked about new recruits Lennon said: “I can’t comment on that.

“I’m not aware of how much money there is but Peter [Lawwell, Celtic chief executive] does what’s best for the club and he always has done, maybe to the detriment of himself sometimes.

“I know he puts the club first and the future of the club at all times.”

Zidane frustrated

Manchester United have reportedly told Real Madrid they will not be selling Paul Pogba this transfer window no matter what the offer.

Spanish publication El Confidencial suggest Zinedine Zidane is desperate for some competition for holding midfielder Casemiro.

It is claimed the Real boss made Pogba his top target but club president Florentino Perez has instead focused all his effort on attempting to sign Neymar.

And that has reportedly left Zidane frustrated with Barcelona and Juventus also believed to be keen on Neymar.

Neymar confident

Neymar is reportedly confident that Paris Saint-Germain will let him join Barcelona, if the La Liga giants up their offer.

Barcelona have made two bids this week to sign the Brazilian on loan, with an obligation to buy him next summer.

But with PSG tracking Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, they want more money up front than the £36million currently offered.

Despite the two bids being rejected, Spanish outlet Sport claim Neymar is reportedly confident that PSG will allow him to leave if they increase their current offer.

Man Utd star makes decision

Alexis Sanchez has decided he is unwilling to take a pay cut in order to leave Manchester United for Inter Milan before the transfer deadline of September 2.

The Chile international is wanted by Antonio Conte over at the San Siro as Inter plot a route to Serie A title glory.

But ESPN say Sanchez is unwilling to budge on his current salary.

The 30-year-old pockets a huge £18million per year at Old Trafford but Inter are only prepared to pay £4.5m to take him on loan.

Arsenal exits?

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has confirmed Shkodran Mustafi and Mohamed Elneny are free to leave the club.

The Gunners duo are currently out of favour under the Spaniard and, now, it’s been revealed that they’re free to depart with the European transfer window open until September 2.

Emery said: “We now have some players who know their situation. For example, Elneny and Mustafi know their position in the squad and I really want the players to be happy here, I want them to be protagonists.

“Last year with Mustafi and Mo, when they didn’t play they weren’t happy.

“I spoke with them a lot of times last year and in pre-season, and I think it is positive for them to leave and sign for another team where they can be protagonists, be happy and continue their careers.”
