Supercomputer predicts Premier League fixtures including Liverpool vs Arsenal

The Premier League action kicks off early this weekend with Aston Villa hosting Everton at Villa Park on Friday evening before 12 teams play their matches on Saturday.

Chelsea travel to Norwich in the lunchtime kick-off while Manchester United welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford at 3pm before the biggest clash of the gameweek between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield.

The pair are currently tied at the top of the table with two wins from their opening fixtures, although the Reds sit at the summit by virtue of goal difference.

Champions Manchester City gets Sunday’s games underway with a trip to Bournemouth while Tottenham host Newcastle and Wolves will hope to shake off any Europa League hangover when they face Burnley at Molineux.

Performances are still wildly unpredictable at this stage of the season, but BT Sport put their reputation on the line by trying to call every single fixture in the 2019/20 campaign – before a ball was even kicked.

‘The Script’ was generated using the help of football data and analysis experts Opta, Google and Squawka, picking the result of every match as well as key awards such as the Golden Boot and Golden Glove.

This supercomputer has crunched the numbers to throw up the most likely outcomes of this weekend’s clashes – and there aren’t too many surprises on the cards.

Wins for Tottenham, Manchester City and West Ham are all fairly easy to conceive, but who wins the big one between Liverpool and Arsenal?
