Strictly Come Dancing 2019 is just weeks away from its September 7 start date and the new trailer has been released to get fans in the mood. Featuring the Strictly pros donning the glitz and glam associated with the BBC One dance contest, the new promo is everything we’ve come to expect from Strictly. Here’s the full breakdown of the clip, including who stars and what it means for the new series.
The Strictly 2019 trailer opens with pro dancer Oti Mabuse applying her makeup backstage.
Adorned in brightly-coloured sparkles and sequins, Oti joins co-star Diane Buswell.
Diane, who made it all the way to the finals with celebrity partner-turned-boyfriend Joe Sugg last year, and Oti then join Katya Jones.
Katya recently split with husband Neil Jones prior to the series’ return but it hasn’t stopped the pair from performing alongside one another in the trailer.

Afterwards, Giovanni Pernice and newly demoted dancer Gorka Marquez join the fun.
Luba Mushtuk then enters the fray shortly followed by the husband and wife pairing of Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec.
Karen Clifton, donning a sequinned hat, enters as she commands attention while being followed by the likes of Johannes Radebe, Graziano di Prima and Neil Jones.
AJ Pritchard then takes a selfie before being brushed aside by Karen.
Amy Dowden then makes her debut in the promo while Kevin Clifton joins the cast in the closing moments.

Finally, strictly legend Anton du Beke appears in his signature tuxedo.
He’s being preened and prepped by Nadiya Bychkova and Luba.
As the camera pans out, fans see he wearing a rather eye-catching dress below his tuxedo top.
The final shot of the trailer shows all the professionals together as they strike a pose for the camera.
Well, almost all of the Strictly Come Dancing pros – new girl Nancy Xu doesn’t appear.

Why exactly Nancy isn’t involved in the promo remains unknown.
In fact, Nancy has been rather quiet about the whole series, only sharing a handful of snaps from behind the scenes of the BBC dance contest.
She’ll still star once the series returns next month, however.
Who exactly each of this year’s pros will be paired up with will be determined on the launch show.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 return to BBC One on Saturday, August 7.
