Kaitlynn Carter and Miley Cyrus have not been shy about showing their affection for each other since they both split from their respective partners, and this made the most recent episode of The Hills: New Beginnings a little awkward to watch. In the episode, Carter and her ex, Brody Jenner, went to the OBGYN to talk about starting a family, and it was obvious that they weren’t on the same page.
“Brody and I got married in June. I turned 30, so we’re just kind of at this point in our life where we’re starting to talk about having kids,” Carter told the doctor. “I think part of it is that I’m a little stressed with getting older with what it will be like realistically if we wait longer to have kids.”
However, Carter admitted during her confessional that she and Jenner couldn’t agree on when to have kids, and he always tells her that things will get better in the next year. Carter then asked how many years she would have to wait, and said there would never be a perfect time. Carter said she was ready to be a mom, so “why not now?”
Carter and Jenner were together for five years before they announced their split earlier this month. The news didn’t shock fans at all considering how much the two have been fighting during this season of The Hills.
Jenner made it clear that he is going to do what he wants to do and live for himself instead of for another human being since he didn’t have kids, and he believed that Carter wanted kids so she could “change in that way.”
The 35-year-old still loves and cares for his ex, and he told his Instagram followers that they need to tone down the negativity they have shown towards Carter because she moved on with Cyrus so quickly.
Jenner wrote that he wanted to set the record straight about their relationship, explaining that they have been best friends for six years, and they still are. He said they grew in different directions, but Carter is still a wonderful person who is beautiful and fun to be with. Jenner added that his ex deserves to be able to move on with her life with respect and happiness.

Meanwhile, Carter and Cyrus continue their PDA spree, this time in a Los Angeles nightclub. Not long after Cyrus’ released her new song Slide Away – which is presumably about her breakup with Liam Hemsworth – eyewitnesses saw Carter and Cyrus “basically having sex” at Soho House in West Hollywood.
“They were obsessed with each other. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other,” an eyewitness told Page Six. “They were kissing and making out everywhere. In the bathroom, at the bar, in the middle of the floor. They were basically having sex. There’s no question they’re together.”
