Joker movie SEQUEL: Director on what it takes – Will Robert Pattinson's Batman feature?

This October Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker origin story movie hits cinemas. Set in 1981, the film features Bruce Wayne as a boy, but will the Clown Prince of Crime return to face Robert Pattinson’s Batman? Speaking with Total Film, Joker director Todd Phillips said: “One thing I will tell you: I would do anything with Joaquin, any day of the week.”

Phillips continued: “There’s nobody like him.

“If he was willing to do it, and if people show up to this movie, and Warners came to us and said, ‘You know what? If you guys could think of something…’

“Well, I have a feeling that he and I could think of something pretty cool.”

Matt Reeves’ 1990s set Batman movie starring Pattinson is set for release in Summer 2021.

They wrote: “Wanted to chew on this for a couple hours before saying anything: JOKER screened tonight.

“It’s a movie that is casual in its nastiness, a series of continual punches to the gut.

“If you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll love it. If not… [I am].”

Joker will be released in UK cinemas on October 4, 2019.
