FIFA 20 vs PES 2020: Konami delivers killer blow to EA Sports

eFootball PES 2020 has scored a big victory over rival FIFA 20, it has been revealed.

PES 2020 has a September 10 release date on PS4 and Xbox One, while FIFA 20 launches just a few weeks later on September 27.

As fans make a decision about which game to purchase, Konami may have delivered a killer blow to EA Sports.

With the PES 2020 release date just a few weeks away, Konami has announced a partnership with UEFA.

The partnership means PES 2020 will be the official game of the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament.

The fully licensed tournament will be accessible via an update in 2020.

The news was announced by Konami on Twitter: “It’s a big one… UEFA EURO 2020 is coming to eFootball PES 2020!

“We are partnering with UEFA to bring PES fans the oppurtunity to experience the FULLY LICENSED tournament through an update pack coming in 2020.”

As an added bonus, eFootball PES 2020 will also be the official game used in a new eSports tournament.

“But that’s not all…” Konami continues. “With this UEFA partnership, we will be the official game used for the brand new eEURO2020 esports tournament!”

And that’s not the only big news from Konami during Gamescom.

Revealed ahead of this week’s big gaming event in Germany, PES 2020 will also have the Serie A license when it launches next month.

“We are incredibly excited to OFFICIALLY reveal that the Italian Serie A League will be FULLY LICENSED in eFootball PES 2020!” Konami continues.

“The new license brings the Serie A logo, trophy and associated badges in game!”

eFootball PES 2020 features new dribbling skills, new first touch techniques and tweaked ball physics.

The altered gameplay was developed in close consultation with midfielder Andrés Iniesta.
