Singer Elton John is blasting the haters after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were criticized for taking a private jet on their recent vacation to France.
Today news broke the royal couple and Baby Archie managed to sneak away for a little getaway to Nice in the south of France. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex came under fire for using a private jet on their vacation but not because of their wealth. Nope, haters came out because it completely contradicts their stance on the environment.
Elton John was not here for those bashing his good friends. He sounded off in a series of Tweets defending the royal couple, as well as their views on climate change and the environment.
“I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week,” he began his first Tweet.
Prince Harry’s Mother, Diana Princess Of Wales was one of my dearest friends. I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death.

In the same message, the singer relayed his desire to protect Prince Harry and Meghan Markle out of respect for his close friendship with the late Princess Diana. Fans will recall John released a new version of his hit tune, ‘Candle In The Wind’, to honor Princess Diana after her horrific death.
The ‘I Am Still Standing’ singer also revealed the kind gesture he showed the new parents, after Harry and Meghan’s crazy year.
“After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home. To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight,” John shared in another message.
Finally, the iconic legend got to the point of shutting up the haters. He spilled a few details that would put the trolls in their place.
“To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint,” John explained.
I highly respect and applaud both Harry and Meghan’s commitment to charity and I’m calling on the press to cease these relentless and untrue assassinations on their character that are spuriously crafted on an almost daily basis.
