Man Utd could sign one player as Alexis Sanchez replacement – and he wants to come

Manchester United star Sanchez has been linked with a move to Inter Milan, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last week insisting he was part of his plans.

The Chile international has scored just five goals for the Red Devils since touching down from Arsenal in January 2018.

And Inter Milan are now ready to rescue Sanchez from his Manchester United hell, with Antonio Conte keen to pair him alongside Romelu Lukaku in attack.

Team Talk say United could now move for Llorente as the 30-year-old’s replacement.

Any Sanchez exit would leave the Red Devils short in attack.

And that’s why they are mulling over a move for Llorente, who can join due to the fact he’s currently without a club.

The Spain international is a free agent following his decision to leave Tottenham at the end of last season.

And the report says Llorente is stalling on offers because United are his No 1 choice to join.

He is said to have a ‘host of offers from Italy and Spain’ but a move to Old Trafford is now his priority.

United have signed veteran strikers in the past – and had great success.

In January 2007, the Red Devils signed Henrik Larsson on loan. The Swede was a big hit and Sir Alex Ferguson wanted him to stay longer.

Michael Owen touched down from Newcastle in 2009 and provided some big moments, such as a hat-trick against Wolfsburg and dramatic late winner against Manchester City.

And Jose Mourinho turned to Zlatan Ibrahimovic upon taking the United job in 2016.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer recently insisted he believed in Sanchez despite talk of a move to Inter gathering momentum.

“Alexis is such a professional,” he said.

“He comes in every single day, working really hard, and he wants to be a part of this. Of course, there have been [media] stories again, [saying] that he has been put in the Reserves. Of course he hasn’t!

“He’s part of our squad and he’s a very, very good player.

“He’s just had a couple of weeks, three weeks now, so he’s a few weeks behind the rest, but he’s very close to being part of it.”
