Championship: Brentford equalise against Hull City at Griffin Park, while it’s 3-2 to the home side in Swansea’s ding-dong battle against Preston North End at the Liberty Stadium.
Premier League: Teemu Pukki makes eejits of those of us who said he might not be able to hack it in the Premier League, notching up his hat-trick against Newcastle. That’s the Finn’s fourth goal of the season in two games and he could add to his tally before the afternoon is out..
Championship: Marty Waghorn scores his second of the afternoon to make it Stoke City 2-2 Derby County in an entertaining game at the Britannia Stadium.
Championship: Michael Dawson extends Nottingham Forest’s lead against Birmingham City. It’s 3-0 at the City Ground. Meanwhile at the DW Stadium, Patrick Bamford has scored his second of the afternoon to give Leeds a two-goal advantage over 10-man Wigan.
Premier League: Leo Trossard had one disallowed in the first half, but despite another long examination by VAR, his second effort into the bottom corner through the legs of a defender stands.
Championship: Stoke come from behind to go 2-1 up against Derby County, with Scott Hogan putting them ahead. Meanwhile t Griffin PArk, Hull have gone ahead against Brentford, with Jarrod Bowen scoring the only goal of the game so far.
Championship: It’s level pegging between Luton Town and West Brom at Kenilworth Road, where Grady Diangana – on loan from West Brom – has equalised for West Brom with his first ever league goal. It’s 1-1.
And in Spain: Real Madrid kicked off their La Liga campaign away at Celta Vigo six minutes, with Gareth Bale a surprise inclusion in their starting line-up due to the absence of the injured Eden Hazard. “Not a Real fan, but really hoping Bale scores a hat-trick today,” writes Paul Fitzgerald, of the Welshman whose manager does not want him at the Bernabeu.
League One: The kids of Bolton Wanderers are far from alright, having just gone 3-0 down against Tranmere Rovers. Morgan Ferrier extended the home side’s lead a minute after the break.
Meanwhile at Gigg Lane: Bury fans have assembled to protest against their owner after their fourth game of the season, against Gillingham, was postponed.
