Strictly Come Dancing contestant addresses 'daft' filming prompting co-stars to react

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Chris Ramsey, 33, discussed what went on in rehearsals in view of his 454,000 Twitter followers today.

The comedian said he did some “daft messing about” with the Glitterball, prompting some ex Strictly stars to share their thoughts.

He wrote: “Filming done @bbcstrictly. Did the interview stuff and the daft messing about with glitter balls and things.

“Didn’t feel as much of a tool as I thought I would! GREAT SUCCESS!”

Chris’ tweet prompted ex Strictly Come Dancing stars Charlotte Hawkins, 44, and Judge Robert Rinder, 41, to comment.

Good Morning Britain star Charlotte wrote: “That’s the easy bit,” followed by crying with laughter emojis.

Robert, who is best known as Judge Rinder, referred to the day as “overwhelming”.

He wrote: “It’s an overwhelming day. You find yourself saying things you never would normally.

“I was so overcome that I looked down the barrel-end of that glittered camera and said ‘My whole life I’ve wanted to get to Blackpool!’”‍

Chris was announced as a contestant on this year’s series during a live episode of The One Show last month.

During the show, the comedian revealed that his wife Rosie Winter is a professional dancer.

He told Matt Baker, 41, and stand-in host Stacey Dooley, 32: “She’s done Cabaret. She’s a professional dancer, she’s done shows.

“We were at a wedding and we nearly let it slip this weekend.”

Following his announcement, Chris Ramsey’s wife spoke out about the so-called Strictly ‘curse’.

Rosie took to Instagram to tell fans Chris was yet to call her after his appearance on The One Show as she joked about the ‘curse’.

In view of her 217,000 Instagram followers Rosie filmed herself brushing her teeth from a holiday villa alongside the couple’s young son Robin.

She said: “So yeah, very exciting announcement, I’m not being funny, I don’t want to start rumours but he said he was going to ring after.

“He was on The One Show half an hour ago. It’s started already, I knew it would happen,” she added, with the word “CURSE” across the screen.

She followed up her post, jokingly telling fans the couple’s marriage is “safe”.

Rosie added: “He rang, our marriage is safe,” she added. “I’m really looking forward to having something to actually do on a Saturday night.

“As always your support for stuff is incredible! Feel like it’s me doing it! (Wish it was. Not bitter. Bit Bitter. It’s all good).”

Chris will compete for the Glitterball trophy alongside a star-studded line-up including Catherine Tyldesley, 35, Mike Bushell, 53 and Anneka Rice, 60.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 returns to BBC One next month.
