Hannah Brown Talks About How Slut-Shaming On The Bachelorette Has Affected Her Faith

Hannah Brown is struggling with life post-Bachelorette, and she recently wrote a lengthy Instagram post to let fans know just where she is emotionally after calling off her engagement. Brown says that during the past year her friends and family have watched her life “explode,” and now she just can’t keep up because she is overwhelmed.

Brown told her followers that her “life is so different” after becoming a pageant queen, a Bachelor contestant, and ultimately, The Bachelorette. She explained that in just one year she has been in love with multiple people, got engaged, and then broke it off while millions of people watched.

One of the biggest things that has affected Brown is the slut-shaming she endured from contestant Luke Parker after she told him that she’s had sex and “Jesus still loves me,”  But, he wasn’t the only one who gave her a hard time about her sex life.

“My faith has been questioned by thousands who don’t know my heart, and my transparency with my decisions has labeled me promiscuous,” wrote Brown. “Simultaneously, I’ve become a role model for young women and started bigger conversations around faith and sex.”

Despite the challenging experience, Brown says she is very blessed and she has a lot to be thankful for. She also noted that “the woman who has emerged would shock the mirror-image young girl from a year ago.”

Brown ended her post by telling her fans that it’s okay to be strong, but feel weak at the same time. And, she can rest because her faith in God will help her through her journey.

Brown’s Bachelorette experience ended up making her worst fear a reality – she fell in love with someone who was on the show for the wrong reasons. Jed Wyatt is a musician who wanted to raise his profile, and he left a girlfriend behind to be on the show and advance his career.

According to TooFab, it wasn’t until Brown accepted Wyatt’s proposal that she discovered his true intentions. And, he didn’t even admit it until his girlfriend back home talked to the press.

Brown says that she is living on her own for the first time, and the media, press, and opportunities coming her away are overwhelming. She hasn’t been able to spend time with the people she loves and she feels guilty about it, but she “can barely keep up” with her own life right now.
