The new Apex Legends Solo Mode is set to be put through its paces today by top streamers.
That’s because the new Twitch Rivals Solo Showdown is kicking off today and will be going live at 9pm, UK time.
For gamers in the United States, that will mean tuning for around 3pm PST and checking out the action on Twitch.
For those that don’t know, Twitch Rivals is a series of competitive events designed from the ground up for Twitch streamers and viewers.
2019 will include over 100 event days featuring new formats, games, interactive extensions, and millions of dollars in prize money.
And today’s will feature solely on Apex Legends and its new Solo Mode action.
The rules and prize money as stake have been confirmed ahead of the Apex Legends Twitch stream kicking off, with an embed available to use above.
“Twitch Rivals: Apex Legends Solo Showdown is an online competition, featuring 60 invited streamers from North America. Participants will compete individually in a custom lobby across 6 rounds of gameplay,” the official rules read.
“The /TwitchRivals channel is home to our anchored studio show and serves as a spotlight for participating Partner and Affiliate streamers as they face off in streamer vs streamer live competitions. You can also tune into the channels of anyone participating in an event to see their unique view of the action along with their community.”
The new Twitch Rivals stream won’t include the same amount of prize money as other big eSports events but looks set to be a big draw for Apex Legends fans nonetheless.
As mentioned above, prize pool money will be distributed based on where players rank each round and how many eliminations they collect in each game.
There will also be a bonus for those who can rank highly on the Twitch Rivals Eliminations leaderboard, with more details listed below:
