Michelle Obama drops shock confession on life after White House – 'We feel inadequate'

The former First Lady revealed what unemployment is like in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel ahead of writing her book, ‘Becoming’. Mr Kimmel asked her how unemployment was going since it had been a year since she left the White House. Michelle joked that the two former heads of state had become “boring”.

Michelle said: “I was just trying to think of what we’ve been doing but truthfully, we’re boring.

“We have a teenager at home and she makes us feel inadequate everyday.

“So our self-esteem is pretty low.”

In the interview, she revealed what she fought with Barack about while writing her 2018 book.

The former First Lady said Mr Obama has lost out on “all the good stuff”.

She said they would “fight” over what each other could include in their respective books.

Host, Mr Kimmel, asked Michelle: “You said Barack is working on his book right now.

“Did you guys ever have a situation where you fight over an anecdote?

“He’s like, ‘I wanted that for my book’.”

Michelle said: “Since my book was first, he lost on all that, all the good stuff.”

Mr Kimmel went on to joke about whether a “rift” would be caused in their relationship if Oprah doesn’t put Barack’s book in her book club.

Michelle added jokingly: “It might hurt his feelings but he’ll get over it.”
