Coronation Street spoilers: Ed Bailey reveals devastating secret to Aggie

Coronation Street newcomer Ed Bailey (played by Trevor Michael Georges) has been hiding a pretty big secret on the ITV soap.

It all comes out in the next few weeks as Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw) heads out to to the Corner Shop for a few bits.

Her bank card is declined and the worried mother wonders just why they’re short of cash.

Ed tells her it’s just a little error and he will make sure the bank sorted it all out.

However, his woes don’t stop there and his eldest son, Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) wonders what’s up with his dad.

Ed decides to confide in his boy and tells him he is in debt, and needs £5,000 to get out of it.

Michael in turn tells his brother, James Bailey (Nathan Graham), that his dad is in trouble.

James gives his dad the money he needs, but is later distressed to see his father on a gambling website as soon as the money is in his account.

Realising he is in dire straits, Ed decides to confide in his wife about his problems.

He admits the reason they have had so many issues is because of his gambling issues.

What’s more, he is the sole reason they are all on Coronation Street in general, not Michael and his bad behaviour.

What will Aggie say when she learns the truth about her husband?

Elsewhere on Coronation Street, Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is devastated by Geoff Metcalfe’s (Iain Bartholomew) health shock.

He has been subtly controlling every inch of her life and even staged a robbery to make her doubt trusting anyone.

Next week, Geoff decides to install cameras around the house in a bid to keep an eye on Yasmeen, but she isn’t best pleased.

The pair decide to call time on their relationship, as Geoff argues Yasmeen is damaging his mental health.

He keeps on camera set up, ready to keep an eye on her but despite the split, he tries to worm his way back into her life.

Geoff continues with the mind games and tells Yasmeen he needs to go to the GP, despite there being nothing wrong with him.

However, will Yasmeen believe his lies and will she let him back into her life?

Coronation Street continues tomorrow on ITV at 7.30pm.
