The god of mischief was strangled to death by Thanos in Avengers Infinity War’s opening scene, so just how can he be back for Thor: Love and Thunder? Well, Marvel fans will remember Tom Hiddleston’s Loki featured in Avengers Endgame thanks to time travel. During the Time Heist’s 2012 segment, this alternate past Loki managed to get his hands on the Tesseract and warped away. What happens next will be revealed in the Disney Plus limited series Loki, which will stream in early 2021.
After all, Mjolnir was destroyed in the main MCU timeline by Hela in Thor Ragnarok.
And during Avengers Endgame, Thor borrowed an alternate Mjolnir to fight Thanos, before Captain America returned it to the past.
With Loki allegedly bringing another version of Mjolnir with him, perhaps this will explain how Jane Foster becomes Mighty Thor in the new movie?
But there’s also another question.
Just how will Loki bring Mjolnir with him if you have to be worthy to lift the hammer?
Could Loki be worthy? Surely not, seeing as this is a younger, unredeemed and villainous version of the god of mischief.
He’s further behind in his character development than the one who died at the start of Avengers Infinity War. Just how they get around this remains to be seen.
