Google Maps Street View’s ‘scariest’ location revealed according to users – where is it?

Google Maps Street View has stumbled upon its “scariest” location yet, according to users of the website. The team’s cameras trek across the globe to locate geographical coordinates and images of roads and landmarks to post online, so users can plot out their own routes and look for iconic places to watch for on their journey. Yet one trip saw the Google Maps venture to Hrebendova, in Slovakia, which prompted quite the response. The district is located in then western part of the city, and dominated by a housing estate created in 1979.

The cameras showed tower blacks with balconies filled with laundry and discarded items.

Residents could be spotted walking and playing on the pavements, while others were relaxing on the grass outside.

Litter could be spotted on the floor while some apartments were boarded up.

Graffiti could be spotted scrawled on the unoccupied buildings, giving the estate a messy feel.

On forum website Reddit, one user branded it the “scariest” place in the world.

When quizzed: “What’s the scariest place you can find on Google Street View?” They replied: “Hrebendova.”

“Luník IX, Slovakia. Large Roma community in Slovakia where poverty and disease are extremely high, heating, water and gas is cut off from homes, and unemployment rates are at 100%.”

One then quipped of the location: “Yet still better roads than Michigan.”

On then posted: “That’s the saddest one in this thread to me.

“There’s a ratio of kids to adults is overwhelming, and the sheer lack of cars for the amount of people living there is insane.

“And then there’s this: Just a baby on the ground all by itself.”

Meanwhile, Express.co.uk recently reported a horrifying road accident Street View scene taken in Scotland.

It showed one man who appeared to need to take more note of the Google Maps website and its directions.

The motorist decided to take some friends for a drive in the rolling countryside.

The group headed to the coastal route leading to Ardmair Beach, in a tarmac stretch surrounded by lush greenery.

Yet, perhaps unfamiliar with the sharp corners of the side roads, his lack of awareness was clear.

When turning left off the main road, to take a side road with a better view of the water, he plunged his car into a ditch on the corner.
