Southern Charm’s Shep Rose Bails On Twitter Following Controversy And Apology For Mocking A Can-Collecting Woman On The Street

According to multiple reports, Shep Rose, the Southern Charm star, deleted his Twitter today. Fans of the reality star know that he posted a video this past Sunday in which he mocked a woman collecting aluminum cans on the streets of New York.

Reported first by People Magazine, the outlet stated that Rose, 39, tweeted that he “felt absolutely sick” about everything that’s happened in the last week. The star said to his Twitter followers that he made several stupid decisions in a row, and he “never intended to hurt anyone.”

Before his fans – and detractors – online, Shep claimed he was going to take a “little break” from social media for the foreseeable future. At the moment, the reality star’s Instagram page is still alive and well, but it isn’t known if he intends on getting rid of it too.

As it was previously reported, the Souther Charm alum shared a clip on his Instagram Stories in which he was joking with a woman on the street collecting cans. The woman, who was carrying her collection in big plastic garbage bags, looked mortified when Shep yelled out toward her, “Look at me, nice cans!” – a double entendre.

Page Six claims the woman shouted “no!” at him as she tried to shield her face from the camera. Rose told her he wasn’t referring to her breasts, but the large number of cans she was carrying with her.

Many social media users reacted, with one in particular writing that they hoped Shep would experience “extreme poverty” someday so he knows how it feels. And another person stated that they could understand if he was drunk and feeling regret, however, the user claims Shep feels absolutely no regret, which makes it demonstrably worse.

The person added, “there is nothing funny about homelessness.” Rose, initially, vehemently refused to say sorry to any of the people castigating him online for his actions. The star, in one instance, jokingly stated that he would “flog” himself, do hot yoga, and move to Siberia for a month to cleanse himself of his sins.

Later on, the Southern Charm cast member contextualized the joke, stating he was actually speaking to the woman beforehand and they exchanged a few jabs at each other. “Mea culpa,” the reality star remarked.
