Janette Manrara: 'Big shoes to fill' Strictly pro opens up on new partner amid huge news

Last year, Strictly Come Dancing professional Janette Manrara, 35, danced with This Morning star Dr Ranj, 40, on the show.

So far, it is unknown which professionals on the show will be partnered up with a celebrity.

But despite this, Janette took to Instagram to share her thoughts on having a potential new partner when the show returns next month.

In a Q&A on her Instagram story, she was asked: “Who do you think you’ll be paired with on this year’s series?”

She replied: “I don’t mind who I get this year, they’ve got big shoes to fill though because Ranj was amazing last year, all my partners have been amazing.

“I just want someone I can have a laugh with and who’s willing to work really hard.”

Janette also went on to tell fans she will “miss” dancing with Dr Ranj every day.

The pair were the sixth dancing duo to be eliminated on the show last series, which was won by Stacey Dooley, 32, and Kevin Clifton, 37.

Another Instagram user asked Janette if she really knew who her partner is this series.

She replied: “I promise you, I find out when you find out… that moment, that name.”

Elsewhere during her Q&A, she revealed what she thinks of new judge Motsi Mabuse, 38, who has replaced Dame Darcey Bussell, 50.

“I have met Motsi a couple of times,” she replied. “I really like her, she seems like such a firecracker and a great dancer.

“I am really excited to have her on board.”

Janette answered questions by fans as she waited for her flight to Slovenia alongside her husband and fellow Strictly pro Aljaz Skorjanec.

Janette’s husband Aljaz took to his Instagram to reveal they were celebrating becoming godparents.

Alongside a picture of his wife holding a beverage, he wrote: “Cheering on becoming godparents… Well tomorrow… Never too early to celebrate it tho 🙂 @jmanrara.”

The Strictly stars will be godparents to Aljaz’s sister, Lara Ljubic’s daughter, Zala.

Earlier this year, Janette said she will definitely have children with Aljaz when the time is right.

She told Express.co.uk: “[We’re] definitely going to have kids, don’t know when.

“I think right now our career is doing so well, we’re so excited to be back on Strictly this year, doing this tour right now.

“Dancing is you can imagine is a very physical, very demanding career,” she continued. “So, we’ll see.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One next month.
