P30 Pro update: Huawei has revealed a monumental upgrade for this phone today

UPDATE: Huawei has announced EMUI 10, the next generation of its software that will run on top of Android Q.

The announcement is taking place in China and you can find full details and hew features coming to the P30 Pro here.

ORIGINAL STORY: Huawei P30 Pro is renowned for its hardware – the phone’s best-in-class camera system, humongous battery and rapid processor are all reasons it remains one of the best Android handsets available.

P30 Pro’s software is also notable too – out of the box the phone runs Huawei’s EMUI 9.1 skin with Google’s Android 9 Pie operating system running on top.

Huawei has never given its users Google’s standard Android experience, instead the OEM has consistently attempted to build upon the American firm’s software by delivering extra features.

This has resulted in the company’s phones receiving a native dark mode and a number of other useful tools like scrollable screenshots before any products running Google’s stock Android version.

Later this month Google is expected to release Android Q, the next substantial upgrade for the operating system.

Android Q was detailed by the tech powerhouse at its I/O developer conference back in May – the platform boasts a legion of new features that will dramatically improve upon Android 9 Pie.

While Google is readying the release of Android Q, Huawei is also hard at work to bring the new software to its devices.

Once again the Chinese OEM is expected to modify Google’s standard Q experience with a number of tweaks – the firm is anticipated to release a new version of EMUI that will run on top of the operating system.

In fact, the company is holding a developer conference in the industrial city of Dongguan today where it is expected to lift the lid on its next-generation skin, EMUI 10.

Huawei has already declared the new software will be discussed at the Chinese showcase – it is expected the update will come to the P30 Pro and be the biggest the flagship has received so far.

Android fans have already have an idea of what to expect from EMUI 10 – back in June FunkyHuawei.club showed what it claimed was an early build of EMUI 10 that was later verified by XDA Developers.

The new software was exhibited looking similar to EMUI 9.1 but toted some signature Android Q features such as new permissions.

Express.co.uk has already outlined our favourite features that have been announced for Q.

It is presumed the final build of EMUI 10 will come with a score of features from Google’s fresh operating system and new ones from Huawei itself.

Express.co.uk is attending Huawei’s developer conference and will be bringing you all the announcements from it.
