Nintendo Switch fans could soon see a major franchise make big Ninty return

Nintendo Switch games list may soon be boosted by the return of a huge franchise which has had a lengthy absence from Ninty systems.

The Nintendo Switch has been a huge success for the House of Mario, selling like hot cakes since it launched back in 2017.

The Switch has been Nintendo’s greatest home console success since the Wii, so far selling over 36million units.

This is more than the Wii U, Gamecube or N64 sold in its entire lifetime.

During the over two years the Switch has been on sale the console has enjoyed plenty of third-party support, something the Wii U didn’t have.

From Capcom, to Bethesda, to Square Enix, to Bandai Namco, to Activision – plenty of big name publishers have been supporting the Switch.

And there’s one iconic franchise that could be about to make a big return to Nintendo consoles with the Switch.

It’s rumoured that Metal Gear Sold V: The Phantom Pain is going to get a Nintendo Switch port which will be announced at Gamescom.

According to the rumours, the MGSV port will be announced alongside a new enhanced version of Hideo Kojima’s last Metal Gear Solid game.

Believed to be called Metal Gear Solid 5: Demon Edition, this new version is expected to be launched in December 2020.

This updated version of MGSV will allegedly feature three hours of completely new scenes, a restructured plot and story as well as new gameplay features.

It’s rumoured that this updated version will let you take Diamond Dog soldiers on missions and feature new buddies such as Battle Gear.

And most interestingly to MGSV fans, it’s rumoured the Demon Edition will be getting additional sub narratives as DLC.

One of these will allegedly be the much talked about Kingdom of the Flies, which was meant to be mission 51 in the Phantom Pain.

It marks what many fans felt was intended to be the true ending of the game, but was cut from the version that got released.

This allegedly will be a pre-order bonus for the Demon Edition.

No platforms have been announced for this enhanced version, with the Switch set to allegedly get a port of the standard Phantom Pain.

The rumours originated on 4chan and were reported on in a post by SegmentNext.

It remains to be seen if these rumours turn out to be true, and as always it’s best to take rumours with a pinch of salt until official confirmation.

But the arrival of Phantom Pain would surely be welcomed by Nintendo fans who have faced a long wait to see a new MGS game on a Ninty system.

The last Metal Gear Solid game to feature on a Nintendo console was Snake Eater 3D, released on the 3DS back in 2012.

Before that the previous MGS game to appear on a Ninty console was The Twin Snakes, a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid for the Gamecube.

That title was released back in 2004, four years after Game Boy Color game Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
