According to a report from Page Six, Taylor Swift recently sat down with reporters from Vogue and dished on the infamous feud she was embroiled in back in June of this year.
The singer criticized the founder of Big Machine Records, Scott Borchetta, for selling the rights to all of her music – also called the “master recordings” – to Scooter Braun, an infamous manager.
Taylor said on her Tumblr blog post that it “grossed” her out to see someone such as Scooter Braun, a person who supposedly bullied her, own her entire back catalog. Swift accused Scooter of trying to “dismantle” her legacy.
Borchetta took to his company’s website to accuse Taylor of manipulating the narrative in an attempt to make herself appear as the victim. In other words, Scott claimed Taylor knew about the deal the entire time, and she had no reason to complain about the purchase.
Mr. Scott Borchetta published the text message conversation he and Taylor had on his website. The messages showed Taylor expressing gratitude for working with Big Machine Records, however, she chose to go ahead with a new label. Taylor began her partnership with Universal Music Group.
Taylor claims while she did have an opportunity to buy them back, it wasn’t in the manner in which Scott suggested. Taylor claims she was given the option to stay on the label and essentially create five more albums in exchange for owning her previous five albums.
Scott claims Taylor simply “walked away” from the deal, but Taylor claims the deal isn’t as sweet as they were presenting it. A source who spoke with Page Six, however, claimed that Taylor never tried to negotiate with Scott for her master recordings.

During her latest interview with Vogue, Taylor appeared to suggest she never made the attempt to buy back her master recordings from the label. She said, “it was either investing in my past or my and other artists’ future, and I chose the future.”
