Melania Trump shock: How star Woody Harrelson had to smoke a joint during 'brutal' meeting

The 58-year-old actor was invited to the meal at Trump Towers in 2002 by his friend Jesse Ventura, before Melania and Trump married and he became US President. Speaking to Esquire Magazine, Mr Harrelson recalled how the unbearable dinner was made worse by him not being able to make it through a conversation without being interrupted by Trump. He said: “It was, let me tell you, a brutal dinner. Two and a half hours.

“Now, at a fair table with four people, each person is entitled to 25 percent of the conversation, right?

“I’d say Melania got about 0.1 percent, maybe. I got about 1 percent. And the governor, Jesse, he got about 3 percent. Trump took the rest.”

In order to endure the one-sided conversation, Harrelson went outside for a break and to smoke a joint.

He said: “It got so bad I had to go outside and burn one before returning to the monologue monopoly.

“Listen, I came up through Hollywood, so I’ve seen narcissists. This guy was beyond. It blew my mind.”

Mr Harrelson admitted Trump did say one thing that he found interesting, how Trump claimed he was worth over £4billion.

He said Trump claimed when he died, no matter how much it was, he knew his children would fight over it.

Mr Harrelson added: “That was the one true statement he made that night, and I thought, OK, yeah, that’s pretty cool.”

This isn’t the first time the Oscar-nominee had a run in with a future political leader.

Mr Harrelson revealed he once crossed paths with Vice President Mike Pence as the two went to college together.

However this was a more positive encounter for Mr Harrelson than the one he would face later on with Trump.

He said: “He struck me as a nice guy, very sincere.

“I don’t know how well we’d get along now, but we got along okay then.”

Mr Harrelson is best known for his role in US sitcom ‘Cheers’.
