Catherine Tyldesley: Strictly Come Dancing 2019 star unveils secret weapon to help her win

Catherine Tyldesley, 35, who famously played Eva Price on Coronation Street, is a keen gymgoer and looks to be taking her exercise regime seriously in the lead-up to Strictly Come Dancing 2019. Yesterday, she gave her 512,000 followers a glimpse behind-the-scenes at her physical training, revealing she is a subscriber to the use of cryotherapy chambers. Posing next to one of the high-tech cubicles, which claim to ease muscle pain and swelling, she showcased her slender figure in a tailored denim dress. “This place is an absolute godsend moving forward with my training,” she gushed.

“Such a difference using the #cryo chambers,” the Corrie favourite said.

“Brilliant for healing, speeding recovery and calming inflammation after a work out!

“I’m always on such a high afterwards! The best two mins of my week!” she quipped.

Catherine Tyldesley became the fifth Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestant confirmed for the line-up last week.

“I can’t dance,” she said, appearing on This Morning to reveal the news. “I love to dance eon a night out if I’ve had couple of drinks and me and Alfie [her son] like a dance in the kitchen but that’s it.

“I’m going to struggle remembering things,” she predicted, sounding apprehensive about the challenge.

Catherine is joining the likes of Lionesses favourite Alex Scott, 34, Challenge Anneka presenter and national treasure Anneka Rice, 60, and BBC Breakfast sports reporter Mike Bushell, 53, on this year’s Strictly.

Also donning their dancing shoes are soap star Emma Barton, 42, YouTuber Saffron Barker, 19, comedian Chris Ramsay, 33, RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, 50, and former England goalkeeper David James, 49.

The line-up is completed by Olympian James Cracknell, 47, BBC Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin, 34, Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, 30, Paralympic champion Will Bayley, 31, CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual, 19, and chef and philanthropist Viscountess Emma Weymouth, 33.

The professional cast was confirmed earlier this year, with original member Anton Du Beke, 53, returning for his 17th series.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 will launch later this summer on BBC One.
