Mate 20 Pro dropped to its lowest price ever ahead of huge Huawei announcement

Mate 20 Pro launched back in October of 2018 and has remained one of the best smartphones on the market since.

Huawei’s handset comes with one of the best triple camera systems around, a colossal 4,200mAh battery and a rapid processor.

The Mate 20 Pro initially launched for £899 but its price has plunged in the months following its release.

In fact, a number of UK retailers such as Argos are now selling the hardware for £499 in what is easily one of the best Android deals at the moment.

The price crash for the Mate 20 Pro comes ahead of a huge Huawei announcement on Friday.

Huawei has scheduled a developer conference that will take place on August 9 in the Chinese industrial city of Dongguan.

The firm has posted a schedule for the event on its website – one keynote in particular hosted by the President of Huawei Consumer Business Software, Wang Chenglu, mentions EMUI 10.

When translated, the page suggests the new Huawei software will be released on the day of the conference.

EMUI 10 is Huawei’s next-generation software skin that is expected to run on top of Google’s Android Q operating system.

Back in June FunkyHuawei.club exhibited what it claimed was an early build of EMUI 10 that was later verified by XDA Developers.

The latter showcased screenshots of the new software in action – it looked very similar to EMUI 9.1 that is currently available on a stream of Huawei devices such as the P20 Pro, Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro.

However, new features present in Android Q, such as new permissions, were exhibited.

More recently a promotional poster for EMUI 10 has appeared on Chinese site Weibo, suggesting the new skin is set to be unveiled at the end of this week.
