Last of Us 2 hype continues with SHOCK Troy Baker claims

Sony is sending off the PS4 in style, as new comments suggest 2020 could be the console’s best year yet.

With games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Ghosts of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077 and Marvel’s Avengers all launching for the system in 2020, PlayStation fans are in for a treat.

One game which is arguably coveted above all others is The Last of Us Part Two, which is tipped to have a February 2020 release date.

And if Joel voice actor Troy Baker’s shock comments are anything to go by, the Naughty Dog sequel is going to be something pretty special.

In fact, according to Baker, fans simply aren’t ready for what’s to come.

“There is nothing about this game, nor the reveals, that hasn’t been 100% carefully crafted and methodically curated,” Baker recently told fans.

“All I can tell you is that as much as you’re clamouring for it, you’re not ready.”

The Last of Us Part 2 sees a 19-year-old Ellie embark on what Sony describes as a “brutal journey of retribution”.

“From the way Ellie plays to the way she navigates through this hostile world, you’re going to feel her physical, emotional, and mental state expressed through every facet of gameplay,” reads a Sony blog post.

“We’ve completely overhauled our engine, developed new combat mechanics, created a new analog stealth system, and revamped our animation system to fully express Ellie’s desperation, resourcefulness, and unique agility.”

While very little has been seen of the game in action, The Last of Us 2 is said to feature broader and more complex environments for players to explore.

The latest rumours suggest that the game will launch in February 2020, although fans are still waiting for official confirmation.

In a recent interview with Ellie voice actor Ashley Johnson, it was suggested that the game would launch next February.

When asked when the game would launch, Johnson appears to start saying the word February but is interrupted by the host.

Kotaku’s Jason Schreier shared a similar Last of Us 2 update on Twitter, telling his followers: “Looks like Death Stranding is about to get announced for a November release.

“The Last of Us 2 was also planned for fall 2019 but I actually just heard it got bumped to early 2020, possibly February? Either way, wild final year for PS4.”
