Xbox Live is the online multiplayer network that allows users of the Microsoft console to play online with friends elsewhere, download demos and watch TV and films. It is available on three iterations of the Xbox as well as certain Windows platforms, iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch. Xbox Support tweeted: “We’ve seen your reports about issues accesing your previously purchased games, movies & TV. We have teams working on it now. We’ll update you as soon as we can with more details.”
Users reacted angrily to the message, however, with one tweeting: “Your f**kin service sucks. Can’t even play offline games or even disc games because your entire service is flawed and garbage. And we have to pay for online service too. What a joke.”
Another wrote: “Make Xbox live free since it never f**king works anyway 2020.”
One user wrote: “Finally got a day off work and xbox live is down what the F**K.”
A disgruntled user tweeted Xbox Support to say: “This service is a f**kin embarrassment. The fact that we all pay full price for live, but receive no compensation for the countless hours every year your team f**ks up and Xbox live is down, is ridiculous. Like be better, f**kin $600 (£492) paper weight, useless.”

Another Twitter user responded: “You act like they WANT the servers to go down. Like there is some switch that turns them off. (There is) but the don’t purposely do that.”
The response was: “Exactly it’s their f**k up, not ours. They should be held responsible. If my phone cuts out random days and stops working. I’m asking for some sort of refund/ compensation. Same should apply to this.”
One fan wrote in response to Xbox Support: “Whiny af just relax itll (sic) be fixed damn…”
