Strictly 2019: Jamie Laing is the eleventh celeb to join BBC show

Strictly-mania has begun, and everyday, Strictly Come Dancing announce the latest addition to the celebrity contestant line-up. 

Today, on Loose Women, the eleventh famous face set to Cha Cha Cha their way around the dance floor was announced. 

Speaking to Andrea McClean, Jane Moore and Coleen Nolan, Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing revealed himself as the latest addition taking part in the competition. 

The reality tv star regularly appears on Channel 4’s Sunday Bruch as a guest host, as well as having an incredibly successful podcast series called Private Parts and is the founder of vegan sweet brand Candy Kittens. 

During his appearance on the ITV chat show, he told the panellists he is “beyond thrilled” and has “known for about a month” he would be taking part. 

“I’m not very good at keeping secrets!” He added. “Especially fro my mum. Every day she’s asked be if I’m doing the show.” 

As for whether or not he has a chance of winning the dancing competition, Jamie explained: “I think I’ve got a little bit of rhythm.” 

“[But] it’s an amazing experience and I can’t wait, it’s going to be really fun,” he added. 

Before saying ‘yes’, Jamie revealed he had spoke to some of the past contestants. 

“I spoke to a lot of people who have done it in the past and everyone said it’s the scariest but the best thing [to do],” he told the ITV ladies. “You want to challenge yourself and do things.”

Fans replied to Strictly’s announcement on their Twitter page with delight at Jamie signing up. 

One said: “Now this one I am looking forward too. Think he will be a great asset to the show, such a character and will offer great entertainment. Well done Jamie!” 

Was one of the first rumoured celebrities, and now it been announced, welcome @JamieLaing_UK can’t wait to see what you bring to the dance floor, come on September hurry up so I can watch Strictly come dancing,” someone else remarked. 

It comes after Will Bayley was the latest famous face to join the 2019 line-up. 

The Paralympic athlete who recently won Gold at the Japan Open 2019 is hoping to “inspire people with a disability” and hopes to “prove to people [he] can do this”. 

Alongside Jamie and Will, RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage was unveiled as the ninth contestant earlier this morning. 

Appearing in a pre-recorded segment on Lorraine, the Hollywood actress sparked conversation among fans, with many extremely excited to see her in a pair of dancing shoes.

Also in the series is Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, best known for her role as Eva Price, but she will be competiing against EastEnders actress Emma Barton who plays the beloved Honey Mitchell.  

There are now only four more spaces up for grabs in the 2019 series.
