North Korea fires two projectiles – Kim Jong-un’s FOURTH launch in two weeks

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff told Yonhap News Agency: ”Our military is monitoring the situation in case of additional launches and maintaining a readiness posture.”

Today’s launch comes after the hermit state fired missiles 220 km (135 miles), reaching an altitude of 25 km (15 miles) on Friday.

North Korean state media also confirmed Kim Jong-un oversaw the firing of what it described as a new large-calibre, multiple-launch guided rocket system last Wednesday.

And the North Korean leader is also said to have observed the launch of a short-range ballistic missile the week prior.

US President Donald Trump, who has been hoping to revive the stalled talks on denuclearisation with Kim Jong-un, previously played down the missile launches.

He said: “We never made an agreement on that. I have no problem.”
