Strictly Come Dancing 2019 is coming around quickly with the launch show expected to air this September. The BBC has started announcing the stellar line-up with many names already confirmed. This year audiences will be watching stars from all across the celebrity spectrum strutting their stuff on the Strictly dance floor. Here’s a look at the latest addition to the line-up.

Who is Strictly Come Dancing 2019 star Michelle Visage?

Michelle Visage is an American singer, TV presenter and reality TV judge.

The 50-year-old has become the ninth name in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing roster.

The star was revealed on today’s (Monday, August 5) edition of ITV’s Lorraine.

WHO IS IN THE STRICTLY COME DANCING 2019 CAST?

Lorraine’s Entertainment Editor Ross King was in Los Angeles live with the star to make the announcement.

Michelle is best known as the member of the band Seduction as well as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race season three.

She’s also on the judging panel for the spin-off show RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.

WHEN WILL THE NEXT STRICTLY COME DANCING 2019 CONTESTANT BE REVEALED?

Along with her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, she will be appearing in RuPaul’s Drag Race UK which will be airing on BBC Three this October. 

Michelle is no stranger to reality TV and even appeared on series 15 of Celebrity Big Brother as well as serving as a judge on Ireland’s Got Talent. 

She was previously thought to be joining with her name touted by the bookmakers. 

STRICTLY COME DANCING 2019 START DATE

She said: “I’m very excited. I’m a woman who’s 50-year-old, I want to show you can do it.”  

When asked whom she would like to be paired up with Giovanni Pernice because of their Italian connection.

But she also said she’d be happy with Aljaž Škorjanec or Gorka Márquez.

WHO WON STRICTLY COME DANCING LAST YEAR?

The star also told the BBC: “Getting to do Strictly in my favourite place on Earth is an actual DREAM! I’m so excited to show that being 50 doesn’t mean life stops.

“Things may not work like they did when I was 20, but 50 also means ‘FABULOUS!’

“There are plenty of women like me out there who still ‘got it’ and we still ‘plan to use it!’ so slap on the sequins, point me to the dance floor and watch me Paso my Doble!”

Michelle’s addition follows on from US singer Anastacia in 2016, who was paired with Brendan Cole.

She will be joining David James, Chris Ramsey, Emma Barton, Catherine Tyldesley, Mike Bushell, Karim Zeroual and Viscountess Emma Weymouth.

Another famous face will be unveiled on ITV’s Loose Women this afternoon.

The total number of celebrities in the Strictly line-up has varied each year, so it’s not clear how many contestants will be participating this year.
