Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 on Switch has a new PS4 rival, one fan isn't happy

There are plenty of new Nintendo Switch games to be getting excited about and one of the biggest is Zelda Breath of the Wild 2.

Seen by many as a slam dunk for Nintendo, the new Legend of Zelda title is rumoured to include more multiplayer action than the first.

We don’t know much beyond the fact that Nintendo is actively developing the sequel for the Nintendo Switch.

And we don’t know how long it will take to hit shelves and what new features will be included.

What we do know is that PS4 gamers are going to have their own Zelda-inspired game coming to their consoles in the future.

It was revealed earlier this week by Sony that Genshin Impact would be launching on the PlayStation platform after the PC version arrives in 2020.

Initial details were shared regarding Genshin impact during E3 2019, with reactions from fans suggesting that it was looking to clone the success of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

But since those comparisons were first made, new gameplay and information has been shared by the development team.

From the new trailer released during the ChinaJoy Convention, Genshin Impact will feature faster combat than Zelda and will also boast some kind of online gameplay.

But some fans have apparently not been placated by the differences between the two games.

A Niko Partners analyst has reported that one gamer smashed their PS4 in protest during the ChinaJoy convention.

Here’s more from the Daniel Ahmad Twitter account, which explains: “When Mihoyo unveiled Genshin Impact for PS4, many noted the game was inspired by BOTW.

“Some fans of BOTW are upset that Sony is promoting this game because of the similarities + they think it’s shameless of Sony.

“This man smashed his PS4 at ChinaJoy in protest.”

Adding: “Seeing a lot of comments that say “It’s ironic that Chinese would be upset by a game that copies elements from another”

“But that’s not true. There is a difference between some developers, who surely do copy games, and Chinese gamers who don’t support it.”

As many gamers will already know, Genshin Impact is being released on PC as well as PS4.

And while we have no clear idea when Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 might arrive, Genshin Impact is expected to release next year.

While details remain slim regarding BOTW 2, we have been given a few hints by Nintendo.

Long-term Zelda fans may have been disappointed by the number of dungeons available in Breath of the Wild.

And if they were then this could be getting rectified in the sequel.

New job listings have emerged on the Nintendo site, which could show dungeons will play a more significant role in the next Zelda game.

Nintendo is looking for a 3D computer graphics designer who will work on the game’s terrain, including field dungeons.

While Ninty is also looking for a level designer that will work on the planning and implementation of dungeons and events in BoTW 2.

More news is expected to be shared by Nintendo regarding Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 in 2020.
