Weight loss diet: Eating this one food can help you burn fat fast – what is it?

When trying to lose weight, there are many different diet and exercise programmes slimmers can use to achieve their goals. It may be tempting to cut different food groups from the diet but a structured diet plan can make sure the foods slimmers eat are helping them slim down. Focusing on the diet can be one of the quickest ways to burn fat and one plan focuses on eating more of one food group to trim the waistline. The keto diet is a low-carb and high-fat plan which can promote fat loss and help dieters reach their weight loss goals quickly.

What can you eat?

On the plan, dieters reduce the amount of carbs they eat and instead fill up on foods high in fat and with a moderate protein content.

Some people will track this by limiting their net carb intake to just 25 grams per day.

Rob Hobson, Healthspan Head of Nutrition and Registered Nutritionist, said: “Ketogenic diet is when you eat very little carbohydrate, but it’s impossible to cut all carbs out if you are doing this diet properly.

“You must eat vegetables and some fruit in the diet, which contain small amounts of carbohydrate as well as other essential nutrients and most importantly fibre.”

Those following the plan may opt for foods like meats, fish, eggs, vegetables, dairy and avocados to stay on track.

How does it work?

This diet plan is meant to help the body enter into a fat-burning state which helps people slim down quickly.

“By eating mostly fat and protein your body switches to ketosis, which means it is no longer using glucose as a source of energy by targeting the fat stores in your body,” Rob added.

According to one study published in the US National Library of Medicine, slimmers can lose weight on the high-fat keto diet plan without having to track calories.

It revealed people were able to shape up without tracking what they were eating as the foods on the plan were so filling.

Although it may not be the best diet to follow long-term, following the plan could kick start the weight loss journey.

Rob said: “The keto diet can be a useful and effective short-term solution to shifting the pounds and this could be a good kick-start to follow with a healthy eating and more balanced eating plan.”

Combining healthy eating with regular exercise can be vital when trying to burn fat, an expert revealed.

Starting small and incorporating gradual changes into the exercise routine will help keep dieters motivated.

This can be done by making small changes like taking the stairs instead of the lift and trying to take 10,000 steps a day.
