Inter Milan plot fresh Romelu Lukaku bid that could end Man Utd's Paulo Dybala hopes

Lukaku’s Old Trafford career appears to be coming to an end with Inter and Juventus having both been interested in the forward.

He has not featured for Manchester United in any of their pre-season matches amid plenty of links to Serie A.

After interest from Inter Milan, including a bid for Lukaku, there were suggestions that the Belgian could make the move to Juventus instead.

That deal would have included Dybala going the other way as United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his squad.

But Italian outlet Corriere della Sera now claim that Inter are back in for former Chelsea man Lukaku.

It’s claimed that Antonio Conte’s side are willing to raise their offer from 60 to 70 million euros, plus bonuses.

United reportedly wanted the £75million they paid Everton for Lukaku back in any deal for the 26-year-old.

Inter’s offer would see United receive maximum £65m, before bonuses, but it could also dent their chances of signing Dybala.

Should Lukaku not arrive in Turin, Juventus may not allow the Argentine to leave.

The transfer window for Premier League clubs closes at 5pm on Thursday but Solskjaer confirmed United are likely to do more business before then.

The Red Devils have signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James this summer with a fee also agreed with Leicester for Harry Maguire.

Solskjaer said: “As a club we’ve had targets and we’re working on a few cases, but as a coach and manager when you go out on the pitch, you work with the ones you have.

“You can’t think ‘what if he comes’ and ‘what if he’s sold’, you have to work with the ones you have, the reality is.

“I’ve never been thinking ‘I’ll play him, but he’s coming in’.

“We always get linked with big names and loads of names.

“We still hope deals can be done, but you never know in the last week of the transfer window.”
