Steph McGovern: ‘I’m struggling’ BBC Breakfast star speaks out on move during pregnancy

BBC Breakfast star Steph McGovern, 37, shared a picture of herself presenting from a rooftop in Manchester as part of the show earlier this week.

Steph could be seen sporting a stripy dress while standing in front of the camera alongside business leaders.

The mum-to-be shared two pictures from her day of filming in view of her 364,000 Twitter followers.

She wrote: “On the rooftop of @KingStTownhouse in Manchester chatting to business leaders for @BBCBreakfast — back on in a few mins.”

One user wrote: “Ahhh I thought you were there! Looking well Steph!”

Steph responded to the Twitter user, writing: “Ah thanks lovely,” before reflecting on her exercise session with the former’s partner.

She added: “I had my first sess back with your Mike two days ago and now I’m struggling to walk,” followed by a person lifting weights emoji.

The Twitter user replied: “Haha sounds about right!! I’m in the gym now on his programme STRUGGLING! Have a fab day! Hope you’re well.”

Another user commented: “Looking fab @stephbreakfast … hope you’re keeping well.. incubating that wee human.”

Steph replied: “Ah thanks Alison! I’m certainly feeling it now!”

The presenter is five months pregnant with her first baby with her girlfriend, a television executive.

Steph McGovern announced her pregnancy news in view of her followers last month.

She wrote: “I see my news is out! Yep, I am no longer with pot belly… I am now with child. #babyonboard.”

Following the news, she spoke about her progress with her co-stars on the show.

Steph told Jon Kay, 49, Sally Nugent, 47, and Victoria Fritz, 34 she had a “rough” pregnancy in her first trimester, but was now doing fine.

She said: “I’m good thank you, bit of a rough start but I’m alright now thank you.”

Steph then reflected on a time she almost threw up over her co-star Charlie Stayt.

She went on to say: “Charlie nearly got watermelon over him one morning,” prompting her co-stars to laugh.

During the chat, Sally volunteered to be Steph’s midwife after revealing she was at the birth of Victoria’s first baby.

Victoria said: “To be honest, Sally is the person to go for.”

Sally replied: “Cool calm and collective, for anyone who doesn’t know I was with Victoria when she had her first baby. So Steph, I’m your midwife.”

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
