How Man Utd could line up with Harry Maguire after £80m transfer agreed

Manchester United have agreed an £80m fee with Leicester City for Maguire, Express Sport understands.

The two teams reached an agreement earlier this morning (August 2). The deal would see United pay Leicester’s demand for money up-front, as well as a portion of the transfer fee in add-ons.

The 26-year-old England international was left out Leicester’s squad to face Atalanta in a friendly on Friday night. It’s believed he was left out because he wasn’t mentally prepared for the match.

Maguire will likely jump straight into Solskjaer’s staring 11 for the new season.

The ball-playing centre-back will be a long-term partner for Victor Lindelof in defence, with Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka alongside them.

United spent £50m on Wan-Bissaka earlier this summer, after a deal was agreed with Crystal Palace.

Nemanja Matic will be the likely man to sit in front of the defence, in a holding midfield role.

That’ll give more freedom to Paul Pogba to move forward – assuming he stays at Old Trafford this summer.

Pogba will partner Jesse Lingard through the middle, with Anthony Martial in a forward role on the left-hand side.

Paulo Dybala could also feature in the starting 11, if the club agree a deal with Juventus for the Argentinian.

It’s believed that United and Juve have agreed a swap deal that would see Romelu Lukaku move in the other direction.

Marcus Rashford is expected to lead the line for the Red Devils this season, with Lukaku seemingly headed for an exit.
