Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd set Dybala deadline, Arsenal make bid, Zaha to Chelsea ‘deal’

7.45am UPDATE: Man Utd’s Paulo Dybala deadline

Manchester United are hoping to tie up a deal for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala by the end of the week.

The Red Devils are currently in negotiations with the Italian champions over a swap deal for the Argentina international.

The deal would see Manchester United hitman Romelu Lukaku move the other way.

The Daily Mirror claim Dybala is unsure whether he wants to swap the Champions League for the Europa League.

United are said to be confident of convincing the forward to move to Old Trafford and believe they can tie up a deal before the end of the week.

8.15am UPDATE: Tottenham could risk missing out on Giovani Lo Celso

Tottenham could risk losing out on summer target Giovani Lo Celso as boss Mauricio Pochettino distanced himself from the club’s transfer policy.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly keen on adding Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso to his outfit this summer.

Spurs are interested in the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who impressed several clubs while on loan at Real Betis last season, as the 23-year-old scored 16 goals in 45 games for the Spanish side.

And his performances in La Liga saw Betis sign Lo Celso for €22million (£20m) this April after triggering an option in his loan deal, but with several big clubs interested in the midfielder they are willing quickly part ways, if their valuation is met.

It is understood Betis would be willing to allow any team to talk to Lo Celso if they table a bid of £70m.

And, according to the Mirror, Napoli are threatening to scupper an approach from Spurs, as they look to add a goalscoring midfielder to their team.

7.15am UPDATE: Arsenal bid for Daniele Rugani

Arsenal have made a two-year loan offer for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, it has been claimed.

The Gunners have twice been in the hunt for the Italian ace and could now make their move as they look to strengthen their defence, say Gazzetta dello Sport.

Arsenal considered a raid for Rugani in 2015 and in 2018.

And now Unai Emery has sanctioned another swoop for the centre-back as the Gunners look to close the gap on their rivals.

6.45am UPDATE: Wilfried Zaha to Chelsea claim

Chelsea and Crystal Palace will broker a deal that sees Wilfried Zaha join the Blues for the start of the 2020/21 season.

That is the huge claim of comedian, writer and Crystal Palace fan Kevin Day.

He can see Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, who had a spell on loan at Palace last season, being used as part of a deal.

Day said on talkSPORT: “This is something that has happened in the last week or so, is that I think there will be some kind of deal backstage with Chelsea that he will go there next season and possibly Batshuayi will be involved at some stage either this season or next.”

6.15am UPDATE: Timo Werner told to reject Liverpool

Timo Werner must not join Liverpool before next week’s deadline because he will not break into their starting XI, claims ESPN FC pundit Shaka Hislop.

“This makes sense from a Liverpool perspective,” Hislop said.

“But if I’m Timo Werner, last year of my contract or not, I think I’m starting somewhere.

“And I don’t see Timo Werner getting into Liverpool’s front three anytime soon.

“So from the club’s perspective, yes, but from the player’s perspective, it doesn’t make an awful lot of sense.

“Given how sturdy and steady that front three has been, I don’t see him pulling up any trees there.”
