Jenny Ryan: ‘Where has this rumour come from?' The Chase star responds to panicked viewer

Jenny Ryan appears on The Chase alongside quizzers Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett, Paul Sinha and Shaun Wallace.

The show has been a huge hit for ten years, but one concerned person asked Jenny about rumours of it being cancelled.

One viewer said to her on Twitter: “Is the Chase getting cancelled for a year?? Hope not we love the chase in our gaff, it’s boss.”

However, The Vixen seemed baffled by the news and asked where they had heard it from.

Jenny responded: “Where on earth has this rumour come from???”

Elsewhere, the TV star has also responded to viewers’ claims The Chasers are given easier questions than the contestants.

One person said to the quizzer: “I do think chasers have a little advantage on final chase as they have more time I checked by time contestants buzz in and wait till name call to answer thats time chasers question and answer no buzzer pause or wait see who can answer that can be precious time and extra question.”

Jenny explained the time it takes the contestants to buzz in, is taken into consideration.

She said: This is why we have the head start for the team – the steps cancel out the slight disadvantage of having to buzz in.

“The Chasers also have the disadvantage that we cannot guess/pass every question like the team can – we are punished for it with pushbacks.”

Jenny also responded to another viewer who said in their opinion, the Chasers’ final questions were “rather easy”.

The Vixen hit back: “Thanks, Max. Please understand that I see plenty of Tweets claiming that the Chaser gets easier questions, which is completely incorrect (we have @beyonddispute ensuring all is even and fair) and an unfair questioning of my professionalism and integrity.”

Meanwhile, on The Chase yesterday, host of the show, Bradley Walsh, scolded Jenny for criticising a player, in a hilarious moment.

One contestant, Laura, got knocked out by Jenny early on in the show, and Bradley sympathised with her.

“Oh Laura,” Bradley consoled.

He said: “You’ll do Route 66 and you’ll love it, you’ll get a Harley [motorbike] and you’ll have the time of your life.

“Right now, unfortunately you have been caught Laura, and for you The Chase is over.”

Having left the stage, Bradley then turned to Jenny and commented: “She was delightful!”

“It’s not my job to reward people for being delightful,” The Vixen remarked.

Bradley joked: “All right love, settle down!”

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
