Red Dead Redemption 2 UPDATE: Red Dead Online news following DLC fake

A big Summer Red Dead Redemption 2 Online update is still on the cards for PS4 and Xbox One.

And now that the new GTA 5 Casino is available to explore, Rockstar Games can turn their full attention to other big projects.

This will no doubt include Red Dead Online and adding the new Career DLC that was revealed some time ago by the dev team.

Rockstar continues to update Red Dead Online each week with new deals and bonuses, but that’s probably everything we will be getting in July.

It was revealed last week that all Red Dead Online players who reach a 3-day Daily Challenge Streak (one Challenge per day) by July 29th would receive a bonus Treasure Map.

And with it being the early hours of July 29, Treasure Maps should be popping soon enough.

These can be accessed in the Documents tab of your Satchel and contain high-value rewards – often including RDO$ and Gold – for those who seek them.

Red Dead Online gamers can also Join any Free Roam Event and receive additional rewards, with 30% extra RDO$ & XP available for participating.

Plus, gamers on all platforms can earn a 30% bonus XP on all activities while playing in a Temporary or Persistent Posse.

Here’s more from Rockstar Games who confirmed earlier in July: “If you haven’t got a stitch to wear this week, the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue has got you covered with plenty of new wares. Try two new colours of the burnished leather Gibbston Pants or slip into a pair of Blackburn Boots – also available in two colour-ways and are permanent additions to the Catalogue.

“Meanwhile, for players with more formal engagements to attend: the dapper Fanned Stovepipe Hat and the dashing Irwin Coat are both available while stocks last.

“A visit to your local Fence and Gunsmith is also recommended, with 25% off essential ordnance provisions like the Incendiary Buckshot Pamphlet, Small Game Arrow Pamphlet, Studded Explorer Gun Belt and the Sharpshooter Gun Belt.

“You can also take 25% off the Potent Predator Bait Pamphlet to craft your own bait.”

But none of this will compare to the new Summer expansion being developed by Rockstar Games. This will add new career paths for Cowpokes to follow, as well as other much-needed content to the game.

The bad news is that we have no clear schedule to follow on when it might be ready to download and play.

With the recent arrival of the Casino in GTA Online, Rockstar will be focused on making that as much bug-free as possible.

This would rule out a surprise announcement this week for Red Dead Online, meaning a mid-August release is the earliest we see a new update arrive.

It also seems likely that Rockstar will announce their intentions at least a few days before, meaning we’ll get early warning of its arrival.

It follows a recent DLC hoax set up online which claimed that new Alien content featuring Arthur Morgan was being developed for RDR2.

However, The reports that Rockstar Games have been working on new DLC content for Red Dead Redemption 2 have been confirmed as fake.

As mentioned below, these rumours were started as an experiment, according to the original poster, via IGN, and include no new information on what the development team has planned for RDR2, or Red Dead Online.

Unlike GTA 5, Rockstar Games have never mentioned plans for single-player DLC, meaning there’s a low chance of it being announced.

What seems much more likely is that Rockstar will announce RDR2 for PC in the coming months.
