A number of the Benidorm cast appear on ITV once again today (Sunday, July 28) on Tipping Point: Lucky Stars. Jake Caruso, Janine Duvitski and Tony Maudsley were fan favourites among Benidorm viewers and now they’ll be showing off their general knowledge on the Ben Shepherd-led show. With the Benidorm trio back on screens, fans will undoubtedly be wondering if the ITV series will be back for another season. Here’s all fans need to know.
Will there be another season of Benidorm on ITV?
Benidorm last aired on ITV back in May 2018 with the season 10 finale.
ITV hasn’t aired any new episodes since, despite the series’ undeniable popularity.
Fans longing for new episodes in another series are bound to be disappointed as Benidorm won’t be back on TV anytime soon, and here’s why.
WHERE IS BENIDORM REALLY FILMED?
Benidorm was cancelled last year after 10 seasons which racked up six National TV Awards (NTAs) and two TV Choice Awards.
The series cancelation was confirmed by Benidorm creator Derren Litten.
On Twitter, Litten wrote: “Yes folks it’s true, after months of speculation, I can finally confirm Benidorm series 10 was the LAST EVER TV SERIES of @BenidormTVshow.”
However, he did reveal Benidorm would continue as a stage show, touring up and down the UK.
WHO IS IN THE CAST OF BENIDORM?
Maudsley also took to Twitter to confirm the news and called it a “sad day”.
The actor wrote: “So lovely to read all your lovely messages of support about the end of Benidorm.
“Trust me, yesterday was a very sad day for all of us too.
“We also thought we were on for another series but @itv took us by surprise and made a different call in the end. Nowt we could do about that.”
Loose Women panelist and Benidorm cast member Sherrie Hewson also penned a heartfelt message at the time of the ITV series cancellation.
BENIDORM SEASON 11: WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SERIES?
Hewson wrote: “Benidorm TV has finished, so lucky to have been a part of this incredible show.
“The best job in the world down to amazing @DerrenLitten.
“He should be honoured with every award. Thank you to the wonderful cast and crew now Party with us @benidormonstage like you’ve never partied before x.”
While Benidorm may not be returning to ITV anytime soon, all 10 seasons can be streamed on Netflix now.
ITV is also currently airing Benidorm season nine every week.
